Despite overall property investment volumes falling in 2020, the capital deployed by private investors was still 9% above the 10-year average. It will continue through 2021-2022, with a quarter of buyers planning to invest in development land, residential investments and logistics will lead requirements. Based on the Chinese global listing platform’s survey, the Pacific housing markets are booming, as seen in Australia’s record-breaking house price growth (increase by a record 17.57%), and New Zealand’s housing market remains strong (increase by 14.66%) despite the severe economic repercussions caused by the pandemic.

According to Knight Frank, the demand for prime London sales market has headed towards an upwards trajectory – the average price growing by 2.1%, which was the most robust growth since May 2015. And not just in London, the overall UK economy is growing strongly by 7.5% during 2021, rebounding from its historic 9.4% plunge in 2020. For example, the UK’s residential property transactions (seasonally-adjusted) rose by 2.1% y-o-y to 1,196,160 in 2021. 

While the global house price boom is slowing in some parts of the world, the United States, the Pacific and several pieces of Europe continue to grow strongly.
